Key specifications

• Type: Bioceramic reparative endodontic cement based on mineral trioxide aggregate.​

• Main composition: Mineral oxides similar to Portland cement with radiopacifying oxides (e.g., bismuth oxide or equivalents) and calcium oxide for bioactivity.​

• Key properties:

  • High alkalinity (high pH) with antibacterial effect.​

  • Release of calcium ions, promoting formation of mineralized tissues and dentin bridge.​

  • Low solubility and slight expansion after hydration for tight sealing.​

  • Compressive strength in the range reported for MTA (around several tens of MPa), allowing use as a base under restorations.​

  • High radiopacity, clearly visible on radiographs.​

• Setting time: Approximately 10–50 minutes depending on presentation, typically around 15 minutes as indicated by the manufacturer, enabling single-visit procedures.​

• Indications:

  • Root canal and furcation perforation repair.​

  • Internal and external root resorption sealing.​

  • Retrograde filling in periapical surgery.​

  • Direct pulp capping and pulpotomy.​

  • Apexification and apexigenesis; apical plug in open apices.​

  • Intracoronal barrier during internal bleaching.​

• Biocompatibility: Suitable for direct contact with pulp and periapical tissues, with low inflammatory response and stimulation of cementum and dentin formation.​
