This Ethicon bone wax consists of a refined mixture of beeswax, paraffin, and a softening agent such as isopropyl palmitate, giving it a soft, pliable texture that is easy to knead and apply with gloved fingers or an instrument. Once applied, the wax physically plugs bleeding bone channels and acts as a tamponade, reducing oozing without relying on pharmacologic clotting mechanisms. Each foil contains a small 2.5 g sterile plate that comes individually wrapped, allowing convenient use in operating rooms and dental surgeries with minimal waste.
